Kevin Duffey Associate Professor Daytona State College
BIOGRAPHY Mr. Duffy is a lifelong public safety professional, trainer and educator with extensive experience in the online learning environment. He created his first online instructor-led asynchronous classes in 1996 and published a book on how to create and teach classes online in 1997. As the assistant chair of the Criminal Justice Technology Bridge program at Daytona State College, Mr. Duffy has created engaging online college courses in Criminal Justice, most recently redesigning all but one course to operate without a textbook. He understands the online learning environment from every angle - student, teacher, designer and programmer. Mr. Duffy holds a B.S. in Technical Vocational Education and an M.A. in Instructional Technology, both from the University of Central Florida in Orlando. In addition to academic pursuits, Mr. Duffy is a certified law enforcement officer in the State of Florida with forty years experience; he is also an active sports car race driver building and driving his own Porsche race cars in the Southeaster United States. Mary Garrett eLearning Coordinator Eastern Florida State College
Mary Garrett is an eLearning Coordinator at Eastern Florida State College who currently works with students to become acquainted with the online learning environment in the Canvas learning management system. Mary has worked in higher education over 16 years in various departments to include admissions, advising, eLearning and adjunct faculty. Chanda Stebbins Head Women's Basketball Coach Santa Fe College
An educator first and foremost, a good communicator and a tenacious recruiter Chanda Stebbins just finished her 15th season as Head Coach of the Santa Fe Women's Basketball Team. During her tenure at SF, the Saints have gone 215-214, won the Mid-Florida Conference four times and made the state/regional tournament nine times. The 13 years prior to Stebbins’ arrival the Saints went to the State Tournament only once. Previous to her start as Head Coach at Santa Fe, Stebbins served as Ruffian's assistant coach during the 2001-2002 season. From 1997-1999 she also served as head volleyball and assistant basketball coach at P.K. Yonge School for two seasons. Stebbins received her bachelor's degree in Special Education in May 1997 from the University of Florida. During her coaching career at P.K. Yonge D.R.S. she also was a consultative counselor to students with disabilities before resigning to teach at Chiles Elementary School so she could train for a shot at professional basketball. Stebbins taught at Chiles Elementary School for two years before an injury concluded her professional playing hopes and she accepted the interim head coaching position at Santa Fe.
