AFC Retirees Committee Logo
The mission of the AFC Retirees Committee is to actively promote and support retired AFC members by facilitating communication, co-operation, professionalism, and camaraderie within the AFC and external community.

Welcome from the Chair

Stay with us Retirees!

AFC has great options for you, even in retirement. We hope you will continue to join us for chapter, region, or state level events. If you are active in your chapter (We hope you are!) they may offer travel assistance for you to attend AFC events.

Continue to enjoy all the benefits of AFC. Learn new things, enjoy professional development, or socialize with long-time friends, and make new friends! Retiree membership is available for all retired FCS employees at a discounted price of $10.00 annually or as a lifetime member for $50.00. The AFC offers discount registration fees to all conferences. We welcome your experiences and we look forward to you sharing with us.

Thank you, and we hope to see or hear from you soon!

WHAT WE DO / WHO WE ARE

As retirees, we have a wealth of wisdom and experience gained through our many years of involvement and exposure during active employment. The following is a listing of objectives to pave the way:

AFC Retirees:

  • Provide fellowship opportunities for retirees at association events, focusing especially on Annual Conference.
  • Establish opportunities for recognition of retirees at the chapter and statewide levels.
  • Organize to support legislative issues undertaken by the Association of Florida College’s Legislative Committee as needed.
  • Organize retirees for mentoring and resource-sharing as needed by chapters, districts, and statewide.

Chapters:

  • Submit a list to the association of those retirees who should be recognized at the Annual Conference as they move into this category.
  • Include retirees in more visible ways in their planning and activities.
